It's Raining here

Ugh! I don't like deary gray rainy days. :( Gets a bit depressing after a while. oh well. My birthday was great. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and wished me a happy birthday. I put all the names in the hat and the winner is: *drumroll please*

In other news...lol. I ended up having to scrap the Day of the Dead story. Just wasn't working and I didn't want to turn in a bad book or a book that I just wasn't happy with. My editor was very understanding. So now I'll be starting a shape-shifter book called Troubled Waters. :) I'm pretty sure it's going to be the first book in a seven book series with the possibility of there being an eighth book eventually. Also, I'm beginning to think about the next Fallen book. Christian's story is going to be a lot darker and more angst-ridden then the first four, so it's going to be a bit more work to get it written without being too over dramatic.

Dance With The Devil

I'm behind on reading Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter books. So I thought I'd re-read my favorite one so far. (yes, I realize this is just an excuse to avoid working on my own story...lol) I have three more to get caught up before her first hardcover DH book comes out in June. Plus I have to read the new MacGregor book.

How is my own ghost story coming? I know that's what you're all thinking. Slowly..very slowly, but with each word I write, I'm getting closer to the end.

I don't think I'll ever sell a book on proposal again. Something in my mind says when I sign the contract, the book is done. That might be why it's so hard for me to focus on RS.

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record. :)

In other news, I finished edits for The Veil: Heaven & Hell. So that's done. Now it's time to focus my attention on Returning Spirits and really get that done. There's a line-up of other stories I need/want to work on. :)

Rearranging...

What does Rob Thomas have to do with rearranging? Nothing..I just think he's cute...lol. Thought I'd add a little eye candy for the ladies to the post today. And something for the guys who might drop by..just so you don't feel left out.

The rearranging has to do with my story for the Day of the Dead anthology I'm part of for Loose-Id. It started out my hero, Benito O'Neill (his mother was Mexican and his father Irish..if you're wondering about the name) was supposed to be a ghost being sent to help my heroine, Amada. Well, I started working on it and hit a huge brick wall. Nothing was working. So I whined to my wonderful editor and she said to change things if I needed to. Now Benito is alive and well..not a ghost. Hopefully this little change will help me get over the wall and start flying on this story. :)

Can You Believe It?

I went into Best Buy to pick up blank cds and dvds. I always browse the movie/TV section to see if the store has finally gotten in Season Two and Four of Due South...lol. To my utter surprise, I saw this wonderful set on the shelf. Finally. I've been waiting for this show to come out on dvd.

I admit it..I'm a geek. I totally loved this show while it was airing originally. I mean who wouldn't love five hot young actors portraying those wonderful Pony Express riders and Brett Cullen as Marshall Sam..oh yum.

So while I chatted with Paige, I watched the first disc. So no words got written on Returning Spirits last night, but I've decided to ditch pretty much the entire 2800 words I have done and start again. Maybe the rearranged plot ideas will help jumpstart this story...because it's creating a logjam. There are a ton of characters crowding my mind and they want their stories told. But I can't do anything until Amada and Benito's story gets written.
