Happy Winter Solistce

yes, I realize that Winter Solistce has come and gone, but better late than never. :) Happy holidays to everyone. Hope you have a safe and fun-filled one.

Boy, tell you what. I got my second review for FALLEN: DANIELLE last night and it's great. :) Tewanda from Fallen Angel Reviews gives it 5 Angels and has this to say, "Ms. Aaron has the wonderful ability to create characters that seem to come alive and ingrain themselves in the reader's heart."

Thanks, Tewanda.

So I wrote the first chapter in my Day of the Dead story. I'll start working on that in January. I've just been writing some other stuff. New things I want to try and stories that have been pounding in my head. Nothing's finished with those or even definite. I'm not sure how long they'll be or even what they'll end up being, but I'm writing, trying to stretch my talent into new arenas. lol

Joyous Holidays, everyone.

Falling down on the job

Sorry I haven't updated this for a while. :( Got busy with the holidays and writing. Some stories took over and I needed to get some stuff finished. :)

First great news.... A Faerie Tale has finaled in the 2006 EPPIE contest for best Anthology. :) Woo-Hoo! I'm sure you don't think I seem very excited, I am really. You just can't see me doing the Snoopy dance around my house....lol. We'll know if we won on March 18th when they announce the winners at the convention. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend...have to save my vacation days for the RT convention in May.

I got a great review for THE VEIL: ANGELS & DEMONS from Dawn at Love Romances. She gave me 4.5 hearts out of 5 and said "The Veil: Angels and Demons is truly one of this year’s great fantasy books!"

Made my way through the second set of edits for Sacking the Quarterback for LSB. :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday, no matter what holiday you celebrate. Take care and be safe.

I've Had Enough

It's cold here and I'm already tired of it. I need to convince my dh to move South for the winter. I imagine he'd be happy with it because then he could golf all year round. :)

Should be starting edits on Sacking the Quarterback soon. It'll be out on Jan. 30th, barring any delays. Check out the cover at my site. Very nice if I say so myself...lol.

I'm in the middle of writing a contemporary about a contract killer who comes home to find her roommate murdered. She's willing to do anything to find out who the shooter was. :) Tentatively titled The Rose's Thorn, but I'm already working on a different title. I'm 23k into it and I'm planning on it being around 85k. Ambitious of me, I know, considering the longest book I've written so far has been Fallen: Danielle at 51k.

Well, I hope you've got your holiday shopping done. I haven't even started yet...yikes!

Yay! :) I'm glad to hear she liked it. Thanks alot, Julie.

New Review

This one is from Noemi at A Romance Review.

"...Ms. Aaron has penned an amazing book full of adventure and passion." 4.5 Roses.

To say I'm thrilled with the way readers have reacted to THE VEIL: ANGELS & DEMONS is an understatement. Now I know there'll be a bit of a wait for the next one, but it is coming. The manuscript is in my editor's hand. It'll be out in the summer of 2006. Woo-Hoo! I hope everyone likes the next one as much as they liked the first one.

Theme Music

I was thinking today as I listen to my Ipod mini...do my stories have theme songs? I know authors who create entire soundtracks for each of their books. Great idea. But I don't usually listen to just one cd per story.

Then I realized that each of my stories so far has a song that goes with them. A song that when I hear it, I think of the story. So I made a list...lol. Can you tell I'm trying to avoid work?

Fallen: Celeste- "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescene

Fallen: William- "Whiskey Girl" by Toby Keith

Fallen: Dominic- "Fever" by Michael Buble

Tiger By the Tail- "Magic" by Olivia Newton John

The Veil: Angels & Demons- "Stepping Stone" by Black Label Society

Fallen: Danielle- "Angel" by Sarah Mclachan

Sacking the Quarterback- "Hanging by a Moment" by Lifehouse

Those are the songs so far that make my writing career's soundtrack. LOL Quite a mix, don't you think?
